Yamamoto® Nutrition Vitalyn POWDER Vitargo® is a 100% powdered food supplement based on Vitargo®, a high molecular weight complex carbohydrate (amylopectin from waxy maize starch).

Vitalyn POWDER Vitargo® contains Vitargo®, a patented, high molecular weight system.
A carbohydrate with an average molecular weight of 500,000–700,000. It is unique in that it is specially processed to produce a molecular profile significantly different from the sugars (e.g., glucose, fructose) and maltodextrins used in many products.
The molecular weight of Maltodextrin is around 1,000-10,000 while that of Dextrose is around 180!

Vitargo® is a complex carbohydrate (a starch) patented by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and designed to be absorbed by the body to provide a balanced and long-lasting increase in blood sugar levels.

Vitargo® helps compensate for the loss of muscle glycogen during intense and prolonged efforts. Its use, therefore, becomes particularly important for prolonged efforts where rapid recovery is required for the following day, such as in stage races.

Muscle glycogen synthesis from ingested carbohydrates depends on glucose transport across the intestinal mucosa and muscle cell membrane and on enzymes responsible for glycogen phosphorylation and synthesis.

Blood glucose concentration is influenced by the influx of glucose from the stomach, through the intestines, and directly into the blood.
It has been shown that the osmolarity of the ingested solution can interfere with the rate of gastric emptying. Thus, high osmolarity may delay gastric emptying, which could delay the release of glucose from the intestine.

Vitalyn POWDER Vitargo® is indicated for adult athletes who have performed intense and prolonged physical exercise. In fact, carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after intense and/or prolonged physical exercise that leads to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscles (the beneficial effect is obtained through the consumption of carbohydrates from all sources equal to a total of 4 g per kg of body weight, with an intake in doses to be started within the first 4 hours following intense and/or prolonged physical exercise that leads to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscles and to be concluded in any case within 6 hours following such exercise).
